SPF- the largest conference for independent authors on this side of the Atlantic, took place in June 2022 in the South Bank Center in London, and I flew in to take part.
Those were an exciting two days filled with inspiring and informative lectures and success stories of other fiction and nonfiction authors.
I got to meet many of my fellow independent authors, including Mark Dawson—whom I’m a big fan of.
This productive trip left me with a lot of “to-dos” on my writer’s project list.
Other highlights of this springtime London visit were climbing to the top of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium roof (My son’s new favorite football club) and experiencing the magnificent ABBA Voyage.
I have been a fan of ABBA’s music since childhood, and to see them in a live show, young and beautiful—albeit virtually—was something I would not miss. Because tickets sold out a year in advance, I spent two evenings standing at the entrance and asking strangers if they had any spares.
Eventually I was able to find tickets online. It was well worth the effort!
